Eti Krom will run its ferro-chrome operations in Elazig, Turkey, at 50% of capacity effective Tuesday January 25 due to the impact of electricity supply limitations, the company said.

The Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources announced that electricity supplies to industrial consumers will be restricted to 60% during the week of January 24-28, the company said.
It cited higher electricity demand due to seasonal conditions, along with natural gas supply limitations from Iran - resulting in a “temporary supply and demand imbalance.”
