LME’s nickel price hikes on Dec 1

On December 1, nickel future price at the London Metal Exchange (LME) hiked by over US$600/ton to above US$27,600/ton. Meanwhile, the nickel spot price also increased by US$604/ton and closed at US$27,496/ton. At the same time, the nickel inventory at LME increased by 1,002 tons to 53,124 tons.
The US dollar depreciated and hit a record low in the past three months, and the restriction of the lockdown in China eased. Therefore, the nickel price was expected to go up.
