It was reported on March 22 that Türkiye Eti Krom has restarted the export of ferrochrome and chrome ore. Due to the damage to railway infrastructure caused by the Türkiye Syria earthquake, the export of ferrochrome and chrome ore was stopped on February 6.

A source said that "the government has opened a new route to the port this week", referring to the port of Iskenderun on the southern coast near the Türkiye Syria border. "We are gradually starting operations," the source added, noting that when operations ceased last month, shipments were delayed rather than cancelled. It is unclear when the damaged railway to the port of Iskenderun will be reopened. "The railway between the factory and the port has been severely damaged. The government is still working to repair the damaged railway," The source said that Eti Krom produces high carbon ferrochrome alloys with a minimum chromium content of 65% and an annual production of 160,000 tons of ferrochrome.

It is the largest alloy producer in Türkiye, but due to maintenance and high operating costs, all four furnaces of the company suspended production in September, leading to a decline in output.
