Afarak: YoY growth of 170% in ferrochrome production in fiscal year 2022

Recently, South African chromium producer Afarak released its financial statements for 2022. The production report showed that the total annual chrome ore production by the enterprises in the fiscal year 2022 was 87,700 tons, a decrease of 12.13% compared to the same period in 2021, which was 99,800 tons.
The production of ferrochrome in 2022 was approximately 71,300 tons, an increase of 170.18% compared to 2021 (annual production: 26,400 tons). The production in the second half of 2022 (61,800 tons) showed a significant increase compared to 2021 (12,600 tons), with a year-on-year increase of 390.48%.
