PTI reported that most of the base metals ruled stable in lacklustre activity at the non ferrous metal market here today.

Zinc inched up by a Re per kilogram to INR 192 amid mild offtake from alloy industries, while copper armiture softened by a Re per kilogram to INR 472 in listless trade.

The industrial metal copper drifted in low volume trade as markets awaited fresh signals on whether the European Central Bank would act to shore up a faltering economy that could drag on world growth and metals demand.
