China imports of manganese ores and concentrates fell 23.9% Y-O-Y in February 2013

February imports of manganese ores and concentrates into China fell 23.9% year on year to 930,714 mt, data released late Thursday by China's General Administration of Customs showed.

Last month's imports were also down 31.6% from January.

Over January-February, China imported 2.29 million mt of manganese ore, up 20.1% from the year before.

Meanwhile, China exported 712 mt of manganese ores and concentrates in February, down 96.4% from a year ago and also down 95.4% from January.

For the first two months of 2013, China's manganese ores and concentrates exports reached 16,294 mt, down 54.1% from a year ago.
