JSW Steel aims to reduce 23% carbon emissions by 2023

JSW Steel, a leading steel mill in India, was expected to achieve an ambitious target of a 23% reduction of carbon emissions by 2023. The firm aimed to realize the carbon emission of steel production of 1.95 tons, including the direct and indirect emissions from its Vijayanagar Works, Dolvi Works, and the Salem plant.

Besides, JSW Steel will also follow the sustainable development pathway for the Indian steel industry proposed by the International Energy Agency (IEA), setting a goal to reduce 60% carbon emissions by 2050.
