India and Russia sign MOU for coking coal supply

Indian Minister of Steel and Russian Minister of Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 14. This MOU provides for the implementation of joint projects in coking coal, including long-term supply of high-quality coking coal to India, development of coking coal deposits and logistics, exchange of experience in coking coal production management, mining technology, beneficiation, processing, and training.

After signing the MOU, the cooperation between the two countries involves exporting at least 40 million tons of coal from Russia each year.
