In December 2022, China's total imports of chrome ore reached 1,314,600 tons, an increase of 15.2% month-on-month and up 4.2% year-on-year. Among them, 1.109 million tons of chrome ore were imported from South Africa, up 7.5% month-on-month and up 3.4% year-on-year; 95,700 tons of chrome ore was imported from Turkey, up 206.1% month on month and up 8.4% year on year.
From January to December 2022, China's total imports of chrome ore were 14.9922 million tons, of which 12.3042 million tons were imported from South Africa, an increase of 2.5% year on year. The quantity of chrome ore imported from Turkey was 950,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.5%. The import from Zimbabwe was 460,700 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 27.7%.
