Russia has captured the second of four lithium deposits in Ukraine, which is situated in Shevchenko of Donetsk region and is considered the most prominent.

Russia reports the full control of the settlement, while the Deep State confirms only the capture of a considerable part, but the deposit itself, opened in 1982 and occupying 40 ha, has been under the Russian control for several days already, as it is situated on the eastern edge of the settlement.

According to the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, the country’s lithium reserves amount to 500 thousand tons, more than in Portugal, which has the largest deposits in Europe.

None of the known four deposits are developed. Two (Polokhovskoye and Dobra) are in Kirovohrad region, while two are captured by Russia – Shevchenko and Kruta Balka in Zaporizhzhia region.
