Chrome ore prices have resumed a steady and modest upward trend, with the overall market remaining strong. Low-priced spot resources at ports are becoming increasingly scarce.
Spot chrome ore prices in China have risen by 0.5–1 yuan/dmtu.
However, high-price transactions for actual orders still need to be followed up, and the stalemate and game between upstream and downstream industries in the supply chain continue.
Today, a major South African mining company has issued a new futures offer for South African chrome concentrate (40–42% grade, Cr/Fe ratio 1.3) at 307 USD/tonne to Tianjin Port, representing a slight increase of 7 USD/tonne compared to the previous offer (300 USD/tonne on February 27). The shipment is scheduled for late April 2026.
