Rio Tinto has restarted ship loading at most of its Western Australian terminals after Tropical Cyclone Narelle cleared the Pilbara region. Operations at East Intercourse Island, Parker Point, and Cape Lambert B resumed on March 28. While repairs continue at Cape Lambert A, shipping there should recommence shortly.

Recent weather events, including Cyclone Mitchell in February, reduced iron ore shipments by roughly 8 million tons. However, the company expects to recover about half of these losses.

Despite the disruptions, Rio Tinto maintains its 2026 shipment guidance of 323 to 338 million tons. Most importantly, all personnel remained safe during the storm.
