Brazilian mining giant Vale plans to invest up to 13 billion reals in decarbonization projects. The funds will be primarily allocated to reducing operational emissions, developing low-carbon technologies, and creating industrial complexes to produce iron briquettes.

This strategy aims to enhance the company's competitiveness by integrating it into the steel value chain through sustainable solutions. Having already invested 9 billion reals between 2020 and 2025, Vale is strengthening its environmental commitment in response to growing pressure from global climate demands.

Vale warned of a potential risk of up to 22 billion reais in costs stemming from carbon pricing by 2030. This investment not only addresses voluntary targets but also responds to the urgent need to protect its business model amid a stricter international regulatory environment.
