Hyundai Steel has announced its Vision 2032 long-term strategy, identifying automotive steel sheets as its primary growth sector. The company aims to increase annual sales of automotive steel to 7.7 million tonnes by 2032. Currently, Hyundai Steel holds the world's fifth-largest production capacity for automotive steel.
The company is accelerating work on its 2.7 million-ton-per-year electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant in the United States (US). On June 17, the head of Hyundai Steel's R&D Center signed a research agreement with Louisiana State University to expedite the development of next-generation iron making technology and support talent development.
