Indian zinc prices inched up by 0.07% to INR 142.60 per kilogram in futures trade largely in tandem with rising demand in the spot market.

Further, firming trend in base metals in global markets also influenced zinc prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October traded marginally up by 10 paise, or 0.07% to INR 142.60 per kilogram in business turnover of 735 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in November edged higher 5 paise, or 0.03% to INR 143.20 per kilogram in 26 lots.

Market analysts said that fresh positions built-up by participants on the back a rise in demand in the spot market mainly helped zinc prices to trade higher at futures trade.
