Indian zinc futures fell 0.18% to INR 138.40 per kilogram as participants reduced positions amid weakness in copper and other base metals overseas and subdued domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in November traded lower by 25 paise, or 0.18%, to INR 138.40 per kilogram with a business turnover of 15 lots.

The metal for delivery in October shed 15 paise, or 0.11%, to trade at INR 137.90 per kilogram in a turnover of 250 lots.

Marketmen said that the fall in zinc prices at futures trade was mostly in line with a weakening trend in the base metals overseas and low demand at domestic spot markets.
