Glencore's ferrochrome production for the first quarter increased slightly

On April 30th, Glencore announced that its ferrochrome production for the first quarter of 2024 was 297,000 tons, an increase of 3% month on month (Q4 2023: 289,000 tons) and a decrease of 26% year on year (Q1 2023: 400,000 tons). The main reason for the significant decrease in the total production of ferrochrome by enterprises in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year is that the current market environment is still poor, and the smelting plant in Rustenburg district of the enterprise is in a closed state.
